  1. Staying home other than the grocery store and walks with Dirty Daryl the dog. Dexter wants to enter for the hair ties! 😁

  2. The stores around here (Indiana) seem to be well stocked. Haven't not been able to find something that I really wanted. I have an extra week of vacation that I really need to use - need suggestions of where I could go. As a fairly recently divorced single woman it will be a new adventure to travel alone!

  4. We have use, knock on wood, to the family cabin for a week to ourselves. I plan to read, nap, watch movies, fgo for long walks, and if no wind and not biting cold, canoe still. Mostly, it will be my week to be off line-no work. I am close to a breaking point so counting down the next 26 days!

  5. Have always laughed at that commercial, but this year...know what you mean :)

With summer, camping got crazy here...as in everyone was out and about! So, I scheduled a couple times for us to head out in our self-contained camper in Sep and Oct. We have a comfy bed, a bathroom, a furnace and frig...we can read, enjoy some fall walks, the campfire and just relax ...a quiet sort of vacation for now as it is :)

  6. No plans for us.....staying put especially since dh, who was furloughed for 5 months is back to work now and they are crazy busy. I haven't had a problem finding anything except individual wipes which must sell out before they even go on the shelf.

Trying to stay healthy - between the fear of Covid and the fires raging all around us, the air quality and my asthma are not doing well.

  7. Still no Clorox Wipes in East TN. Otherwise, most shelves are fairly well stocked. Thanks!

  8. Another wonderful giveaway, thank you Sluggy! Our stores here are well-stocked. I don’t know of anything that’s not available.

    ReplyDelete
  9. For some reason paper towels are in short supply around here. I was thinking about putting up the fall decorations. That is if I can find them! Hope you're well!

  10. The stores here have most things but canning jars, lids, Clorox wipes, and Lysol are almost impossible to buy. Costco doesn't have meat limits and I can buy everything I want but some at a higher price. We were hoping to celebrate our anniversary in January with a trip back to Williamsburg but I can't see it happening now. Though no kids in school our district is doing online if the parents want it. aerodog@zbzoom.net. Great box of items.

  11. Home projects are on the agenda. Outdoors I have my 2 decks stained and the shed sealed. It looks so good! Now I need to start painting inside - if I could just figure out what color I want....

    ReplyDelete
  12. Right now our shelves here in central AL are well-stocked, except for Lysol, Clorox, some cleaning supplies, etc...

  13. Kroger mostly has everything I need but sometimes random items like tofu are missing. That was never popular before but sometimes it's out of stock for a month at a time.

  14. No plans to go anywhere this fall. My world has really shrunk. I didn’t even make it to the ocean this summer, two hours away. I heard that everything was crowded. But I do more at home. If this is going to be my home, I should improve it!

    ReplyDelete
  15. The stores by me are getting better. I just found Clorex wipes after several months. So that was good.

  16. Sluggy I am an idiot, forgot to mention I never won before. Does anyone else disinfect their groceries when they get home? Toilet paper seems fine right now at Costco. aerodog@zbzoom.net

  17. Hi! Our grocery stores vary, liw stock on certain items like paper towels, liquid anti bacterial soap. Empty shelves on liquid hand soap, anything antibacterial. Of course no wipes to be found anywhere.
Would like to win you giveaway, have never won.

  19. Never been a winner. I am a teacher so I am back to work online. Not the most fun thing I've ever done. Miss teaching in person

  20. We have our fall garden planted, black-eyed peas and turnip greens. They are growing well. After they get through producing we will put the garden to bed for the winter-whew!

  22. Staying home this fall. Usually visit my mom and grand daughter in Oregon but right now so much of the state is on fire. Also riots in the bigger cities so no thanks. I will stay home. Working anyway. lol. Take care.

    ReplyDelete
  23. We have plans to start riding the bikes that have been stored in the shed for years. A bike helmet arrived today but we’re still waiting for an inner tube since one tire won’t hold air.

  24. Never won, planning to stay home. Because 2020 is a cluster all around ;-)

  25. Watching the leaves fall and wondering if I should get a new rake-that's about it. Happy Days!

    ReplyDelete
  26. We don't have any big plans for the fall, which is fine by me :) I teach a history class on Tue/Thurs mornings and then I try to be at home as much as possible otherwise. Of course, it doesn't work out like I plain, but I love to be home as much as I can.

  28. The grocery store is the only place I have been in three months or more. I need this box for my birthday today.

    ReplyDelete
  29. The schools: it was very complicated and difficult (as it was all over the country). In my area in NJ it’s a mixture of in-person and virtual, switching off. Hard for the teachers to plan for their children too.
This morning I am thinking about 9/11 19 years ago. I was not in New York that day; I saw it on television after someone called me. Terrible terrible terrible.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Still stocking up for winter (or whatever). I normally stock up right before winter as our income goes down as a general rule. But this year feel a sense of urgency to get the deals and needed items in asap.

    ReplyDelete
  31. We're planning some more backyard cleanup as soon as we have cooler weather. Maybe tomorrow or next weekend. One corner of the yard turns in to a jungle just a few weeks after we clear it out. Daryl the dog finds this a prime hunting ground and I don't want anymore "presents." :(

    Jen G.

  32. I work for the school district as an admin and plan to stay out of areas the children are in. My one son and family is moving into the house next door to us - and my husband is helping them update it. Mary G

  33. I finally was at a church Wednesday night for my granddaughter's confirmation. I haven't been to church since March and probably won't for a long time. Never won from you or anything in almost 30 years. Big am I unlucky. aerodog@zbzoom.net

    ReplyDelete
  34. Today I head to Farmers Market. Still have free senior produce coupons to use! Whoo Hoo! Then lots to catch up on at home. Have been working 30 hours a week outside the home and still not in a good routine even after 6 months.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I have all kinds of work that needs to be done, but I’m not so handy (except for simple things) and leery about letting people into my house. So I had some tree work done, hired a company to help me in my ongoing battle against knotweed and had the house powerwashed. A few days ago I had the fence replaced, which was urgently needed. But I am going to get some inside stuff done too, unfortunately. My wallet is really feeling it!

    ReplyDelete
  36. The bike tire inner tube ordered weeks ago arrived today. Tire is inflated after several YouTube videos but the brakes were sticking on the test ride. We oiled the pads but if that doesn’t work back to the videos.

I’ve won three times but I’m greedy and keep on entering. 😁

  37. I won once before, but couldn’t resist entering....it’s a beautiful Sunday herein NJ, perfect for a little yard work.

  38. Well, things changed quite a lot this past week for us. My daughter in college, was sent home bc she was exposed to COVID. She tested positive on Friday. She is not sick and has no symptoms thank goodness. But, we are all in quaratine for 14 days now. Fun times.

  39. Got busy this morning and cleaned my kitchen. Even the dreaded counters, refrigerator top and floors. Only thing I didn't do was under the sink and cleaning the two ovens since I was in the middle of baking. Boy was there a lot of dust and stuff out of place! Guess I am getting the fall cleaning bug. Making a list so I can take it slow and not do myself in. Take care everyone!

    ReplyDelete
  40. We're venturing out a little more now that my husband has started going in to work again. I'm working from home still and I'm grateful for that since COVID cases are on the rise here again.

    ReplyDelete
  41. One of the things I plan to work on while in quarantine for the next 12 days is a big stockup list. I have been going through tried and true recipes and writing out ingredients needed for them. I'm also trying to think of items we would need if we couldn't get out for a couple of weeks. After the quaratine I plan on stocking up and getting ready to hunker down for the colder weather.

  42. The numbers are relatively low in my state, but that doesn’t mean Covid is gone. It fluctuates and most of the time the transmission rate is too high. So things will not change much for me in the near future.
But I still have some indoor repairs that I can’t do myself...

  43. The orange flavor of Vitamin Water Zero has been impossible to find for the last few months. I’ve been making pitchers of iced tea instead but miss that artificial Tang like flavor.

    Jen G.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Our stores are much better stocked than before, but we're still having trouble with stuff like yeast and olive oil.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I don’t stockpile to a huge extent, but I always have more than I need at the moment. Kind of a balancing act not to buy more than you can use before it expires if it’s something that expires. If I were still driving I would stockpile more.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Why does Sept. seem busier than the last few months. I feel like a squirrel putting up stores for the winter!

    ReplyDelete
  47. I’d like to make another trip to Aldi to stock up on canned tomatoes, spaghetti sauce, etc. it would be nice if they remove the limits so we don’t have to use two carts and only buy a few of each.

    Jen G.

  48. I have never won, but have tried. Vanessa brown 76 at gmail dot com, all smooshed together.
When covid hit last spring, my man lost his job. He was a bartender and manager for a local spot he’d worked at for 20 years. He became the stay home and school parent. I work in the automotive industry, so my hours increased. Fast forward to fall, he landed a promising job in a new industry. Pay schedules have shifted and we’re acclimating. Now I’m home through the week for school, working on weekends. It’s different and challenging but we’re rollin with the punches. Last week was really meaty, so this week is largely meatless. My kid is 8. We’re looking forward to Halloween because a) it’s the best time to be masked and b) he was sick last year and couldn’t trick or treat. This year, it’s ON!!!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Guess I neglected to include my fall plans. It’s to follow this redundant but productive schedule of keeping the online education flowing for my kid, try to avoid going insane because I miss work and producing a lot of food stuffs. I also read vintage cookbooks for fun. Today I read an Old El Paso cookbook from 1978. I was born in 1976. There’s great mention of canned corn tortillas. Does anyone remember this? I do not but am intrigued. If anyone remembers, would you please elaborate. What were they packed in? Labels didn’t have requirements then! We’re they wet? In oil? In sauce?

  50. I went to our super Wal-Mart last week and got 3 containers of Lysol spray and shared 1 with my daughter. They had Lysol wipes but I passed because I don't like them. Hope I don't regret that. Never won from your give away and I love Swedish fish. aerodog@zbzoom.net

  54. My plans for fall? Survive. The kids are in a hybrid model for school (in class 2 days a week, virtual 3 days) and it is a clusterf*** so far. Bill is looking for a new job after being fired for stupid reasons. And I am just going to try to survive.

    ReplyDelete
  55. My bike is finally fully functional so I’m planning to try it out soon. We have weather in the 70s so no more excuses.

The stupid squash bugs are still eating my tomatoes. I might try to make fried green tomatoes with the good ones that are left.
