Nice giveaway once again. No gardening for me! I don't like to get all dirty and overheated (I'm so delicate! ha.) email is sweetiesuzy@aol.com
ReplyDeleteI cannot find masks, hand sanitizer, Lysol Wipes, Wet Ones or elastic. There is plenty of toilet paper, though. Cake and Brownie mixes are back. Chicken is becoming lean.
ReplyDeleteDH & I were working on our garden this afternoon. We're putting in tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers.
ReplyDeleteMarie
mgaltier(at)yaho.com
Lately, other than Cloroz Wipes for my mother-in-law, I haven't had a hard tme finding anything. Chicken was higher than I wanted to pay so I just got enough for husbands lunches. I'm giving gardening a go with carrots, zucchini, and peppers, and if I can get some tomato plants will add them. I have a brown thumb-no gift of gardening at all, but I see my garden as something to bring joy and if I get any vegetables, will consider it a success.
ReplyDeleteI am putting in a garden this year. I plan to increase by 25% and can completely from it. Planting will include: Roma tomatoes, eggplant, cucumbers, squash, carrots, beets, and potatoes.
ReplyDeleteAmy cheapohmom921@gmail.com
We have already started our seeds indoors. Last time I was at the dollar tree and dollar general I bought a bag of soil and some seeds. That was about a month or so ago-who knows. I do know that I haven't driven my car for so long that the battery is now dead!
ReplyDeleteMy community garden is open, but everybody has to be careful with the garden gates and shared equipment like wheelbarrows. Fingers crossed. If somebody gets sick they will close for sure. I really want to grow my own food this year!
ReplyDeleteI love the Arm n Hammer laundry pods. So easy to use and get your clothes really clean. Love to read your blog.
ReplyDeleteI haven’t been able to find tofu for the last month. Kroger substituted some spicy orange tofu in a pickup order. I’ll use that in stir fry but it’s not very versatile.
ReplyDeleteJen G.
We are not planting a garden this year. I have a brown thumb!
ReplyDeleteBonnie
We don't have anywhere to garden :( Makes me sad. Bill has been shopping and last week he wasn't able to find sausage. This week he wasn't able to find butter.
ReplyDeleteOf all things, romaine lettuce seems to be perpetually on my grocery list....in the last 4 or 5 weeks, I found a three pack once (yay!) and really sad bag of cut up greens that spoiled quickly (couldn't return even if I wanted to) or most often none at all (boo!) May have to start growing lettuce if I want any!

Always put in a garden but this year~~I am going to fence it!! I am tired of losing 1/2 my crop (which is small) to the wild animals.
ReplyDeleteRaccoons-rabbits-deer-opossum-bigfoot!!! Hope to convince my DH to do a rustic low cost surround.
jgish@hughes.net
You are so generous and this is a nice distraction. I now have 4 fruit tree - 2 orange and 2 lemons. Lemon trees are blooming - so, hope to have some fruit in a couple of months. The orange trees are new - but one has 3 blooms. I planted a couple of seeds each, squash, beans, and bellpepper in a pot. I also ordered tomato seeds since the plants at Lowes were expensive and scraggly looking. I noticed blurbs about people "regrowing" - so, I have the root end of onion in a glass jar/water and an avocado seed in a jar/water too.
ReplyDeleteI have planted red lettuce, Romaine, kale, basil, Greek oregano, rosemary, mounding petunias, wave petunias, and seeds for 3" orange carrots, red carrots, and lots of other stuff.
ReplyDeleteI have my little seeds started and we are seeing progress with them! We hope to have a full container garden going on our patio by this summer. readwritemomblog@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI still can't find tp

I only plant flowers and herbs, but mostly just in pots. I might try to grow tomatoes again this year (if I can get out to a nursery). My husband does our grocery shopping every two weeks so I haven't ventured out at all... Bobbiejjj@aol.com
ReplyDeleteIn my community garden plot, I plan to grow lots of tomatoes as well as small amount of peppers, kale, cucumbers, parsley and I forget what all else. I’m purchasing seedlings from an urban garden project this year. Also going to grow arugula and radishes in pots in sunny spots in my yard.
ReplyDeleteI always plant flowers and try a few veggies but never seem to have any luck with them. This year I'm determined to grow peas, beans and cukes at least.
ReplyDeleteNo garden for us this year.
ReplyDeleteMichelle. mlbamford@gmail.com
This year I am growing potatoes which I have never grown before. I am growing them in 5 gallon buckets. Hubby built me a rack to put them on with stuff we had at home so that they could drain properly.
ReplyDeleteI always plant a garden and will continue this year. I havent had any issues at stores however we always have stock put back so we do not need much. I dont buy processed food much either so that helps as that is what is in short supply in our area. We raise our own meat so do not need any store meat.
ReplyDeleteThere is still no Toilet paper to be found.. fortunately we had a stash of it!
ReplyDeleteBonnie
Daryl the dog has destroyed everything I’ve tried to plant except tomatoes in cages. We need a fence around the garden beds if I want to try anything else.
ReplyDeleteThat dog is nothing but trouble. This morning he found a nest of baby bunnies and scattered his new toys all over the backyard. 😒
Jen G.
We are planning on doing a big garden this year. We have the ground disked and ready to make rows. We will have tomotoes, peppers, squash and green beans. Oh, and cucumbers!

I have already planted a container garden. Here is SC there is still no TP, hand soap, sanitizer, very little meat, no pasta, good thing I had a full pantry to start! Mad2267 at gmail
ReplyDeleteHubby went grocery shopping today - he said they were out of Klondike bars. They did give him and probably a whole bunch of other people the bonus app $1.50 off a pack. But I told him I am sure it is parents with kids at home - to use as a bribe.
ReplyDeleteThe seed started zukes, cukes and tomatoes are doing well. Just have to wait for the last frost to put them in the ground. Nothin' like home grown!
ReplyDeleteI have not seen Lysol hand soaps in our stores for weeks.
ReplyDeleteWendy
clarksrfun at gmail dot com
I also planted some watermelons.
ReplyDeleteMarie
mgaltier(at)yaho.com
Things I have not run out of because of my shopping habits - stocked up when prices were low: toilet paper/paper towels. Stuff I had on hand because I had a bad cold in November/December - hand sanitizer. Things I made with what I had on hand: mask for my immediate family and myself - mailed 2 to my daughter.
ReplyDeleteThere are no real food shortages around here, or at least temporary ones. Toilet paper was a big drama. I wanted a thermometer and could not find one, but I am not going to lots of stores. It creeps me out a bit. I just go to one store and one pharmacy, once a week each.
ReplyDeleteI stuck the ends of romaine lettuce in a pot and it hasn’t died yet. Not sure if garden sections are open around here but I’m planning to check this weekend. Kroger has single tomato starts for $3.79 so I passed on that.
ReplyDeleteJen G.
Another item we are unable to get is bread flour!
ReplyDeleteBonnie
Trying to figure out where to plant this stuff we started. I think instead of flowers out front we'll put veggies-only place that gets sun.
ReplyDeleteHope you're family is doing well! Thanks!
Well we still can't find toilet paper at our stores...we only have a few rolls left! Oof.
ReplyDeleteAfter this thing is over, I‘ll stock up more. Because I live alone and there are plenty of stores around here, I never paid that much attention to it. It’s just luck that I have enough TP for months. Right now I don’t want to go into stores, but when things get better I‘m going to stock up with a lot of things!
ReplyDeleteMy indoor seeds are doing great. I started 3 types of tomatoes, 6 kinds of peppers, 2 types of eggplants, lettuce and celery.
ReplyDeleteYesterday I planted some green onion roots after I'd used the tops.
ReplyDeleteMarie
mgaltier(at)yaho.com
The romaine lettuce ends all have new leaves today! I had my doubts since I didn’t keep them in water first. Just shoving them in a pot appears to work.
ReplyDeleteJen G.
Headed out for a few groceries tomorrow and wondering what will be available....
ReplyDeleteBonnie
I helped the "economy" today as my husband did curbside pick up at PF Changs for lunch.
ReplyDeleteFINALLY got 8 rolls of TP today. It was a close call - we were almost out! For some reason I still haven't been able to find tofu!
ReplyDeleteThis was me - sorry that I didn't realize I was logged out when this happened!
DeleteI have not been able to find any yeast at Walmart or Aldi for weeks. Also, no tp or paper plates. Or Lysol.
ReplyDeleteWendy
clarksrfun at gmail dot com
I have noticed more dropped calls and spooling on the streaming services - is it because everyone is using their internet/wifi service?
ReplyDeleteThere's still no tp to be had around here.

I have my doubts about much gardening so signed up for a produce delivery box. A coworker gave me a 25% off code for Imperfect Produce so willing to give it a try.
ReplyDeleteAnd like the person above, still no tofu other than spicy orange!
Jen G.
Hubby said today that he is going to build me a new bed for my carrots. I am so excited.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying cherry tomatoes this year but I'm a notoriously bad gardener so we'll see what happens!!
ReplyDeleteI have found things in my freezer - unused flavored coffee creamer from when my daughter visited in December that I am thrilled to be using now. A new appreciation for formerly mundane things I suppose.
ReplyDeleteThere's no yeast to be found, but I there's bread on the grocery store shelves.
ReplyDeleteMarie
mgaltier(at)yahoo.com
Not gardening but I just spent an hour and a half clearing out a back corner of our backyard. It’s really overgrown and I suspect the bunnies may be breeding back there. Didn’t find bunnies but accidentally spilled a nest of baby birds. I put them back and now see a robin checking on the nest.
ReplyDeleteJen G.
I planted a few pots of herbs today.
ReplyDeleteWe weren't able to purchase the Irish Spring bar soap we were looking for at CVS.
ReplyDeleteBonnie
We had struggled to find popcorn kernels for the past month and I JUST got them at the store the other day. Hooray!
ReplyDeleteToday I will start hardening off my transplants/seedlings. I planted about 60 seeds but only about half of them made it. I will have to buy some plants but not nearly as many.
ReplyDeleteWendy
clarksrfun at gmail dot com
I still can't find hand sanitizer anywhere.
ReplyDeleteMarie
mgaltier(at)yahoo.com
A couple of bean seeds have sprouted. Another appreciation for the formerly mundane.
ReplyDeleteI finally found plain tofu today! Biscuits and gravy and tofu scramble are on the menu for tomorrow morning.
ReplyDeleteJen G.
We had 8 yards of topsoil delivered today. I am so tired but it is done. Thank God.
ReplyDeleteWe plan to grow more vegetables this year. Still cannot find hand sanitizer in grocery stores.
ReplyDelete--Bluebells
Not gardening exactly, but has anyone else struggled to get rid of knotweed? Any suggestions? All I know to use is Roundup and I hate to do that.
ReplyDeleteI have rhubarb coming up - 2 hills of it and my raspberries from KY. My friend sent them to me in a flat rate box with a wet paper towel and in a large zip top bag 3 years ago. Well actually this is year 3 for them coming up. They are growing leaves and getting bigger all the time. I cut them down every year and last year finally got raspberries. This year hoping for a ton! Red and white raspberries. The neighbor has 2 peach trees that hang over the fence and we get all we want. So that's good in the fall. Hoping to get some more soil and plant some herbs. This year working on building up some more garden beds even though our yard is small. If there wasn't an under ground sprinkler system I would be happy just digging the whole yard up and having a garden! Take care.
ReplyDeleteIn addition to cherry tomatoes, I am also trying to keep some basil, cilantro, aloe vera, and an Easter lily alive. It doesn't look good for these poor plants...
ReplyDeleteI bought big plants, so I have a couple of little cherry tomatoes appreaing already.

I have found this time to be a good time to use up samples. Nice to try things from the Target Beauty box. Even though I have no place to be, a few times I have sprayed on cologne for me. Still waiting for my spray on hair color to arrive to cover my salt and pepper roots.
ReplyDeleteWe plan to grow a Three Sisters garden. Cannot find masks in stores.
ReplyDelete--Bluebells
I planted garlic in pots. Hope it does well. First time growing it.
ReplyDeleteI noticed in the stores around here eggs have gone up from 1.49 for an 18 pack to 2.99 to 3.09 for a 12 pack! Yikes. I am calling two friends I know who have chickens and seeing if they are selling eggs. Even if I have to pay higher prices it will be worth it to get fresher eggs.
ReplyDeleteI’m going to plant the ends of some leaf lettuce since the romaine is doing well. It’s been less than a week and all three have new leaves.
ReplyDeleteJen G.
If I am lucky enough to win the giveaway, the first thing I’ll start using is the lotion. My hands have gotten rough from all that washing. I washed my hands pre-Covid too, of course, but now I’m a little obsessive and I can see it on the rough knuckles.
ReplyDeleteI made a trip to Aldi's this week. Loaded up. Not much meat in the store and it was a limit of two. I'm set for the rest of the month and part of next. My seedlings are growing. Can't wait till the danger of frost is gone and they can be planted outside. Hope all is well!
ReplyDeleteI think we're going to just make-do this week and avoid the stores ( :
ReplyDeleteBonnie
A friend got me some tp yesterday!
ReplyDeleteMarie
mgaltier(at)yahoo.com
Finally found egg powder after weeks of searching. Bought blueberry plant to start a fruit garden.
ReplyDelete-- Bluebells
Whoo hoo! My spray on hair color is out for delivery today. Just in time as I have to leave the house next week.
ReplyDeleteHey it’s Crystal (crystalishappy@hotmail.com)
ReplyDeleteI broke down and ordered bulk oats online because we couldn’t find them at the store and they’re my son’s favorite breakfast. I guess we’ll all be eating a lot of oatmeal!!
Still trying to just stay in to avoid exposure...
ReplyDeleteBonnie
My strawberries have so many flowers. I can't wait. I just have to beat the bunnies, birds and my kids to them.
ReplyDeleteI’m still sore from the yard cleanup and only made it halfway through. Ordered some Round Up from Amazon and it should be here Saturday. Definitely not normal but that neglected corner is a jungle.
ReplyDeleteJen G.
This evening I had my first Zoom meeting (my book club). I enjoyed it more than I expected and we were able to have a discussion. It was def better than nothing. This virus thing may drag me into the 21st century lol.
ReplyDeleteNo garden. Can not find flour in stores. Toilet paper is hot or miss. Eggs and sugar have returned. Good giveaway. gerry t. Merlinsfamily@outlook.com
ReplyDelete
