Making My Troll Famous

I tend to just ignore my collection of trolls who come to the blog to attempt to leave nasty comments.  They always post under "Anonymous" or some Google account with a name but no other info. so I can't tell what bridge they live under.

This troll took exception to my having a stockpile sale and my shopping habits.  Instead of deleting and ignoring this comment I thought I'd make this troll famous on this here blog.  I have my suspicions about who this particular troll is(and they have proved to be a bit unbalanced and out to "get me" on other occasions).

Here is the hate filled comment they left me.............

What do you call someone who shops sales endlessly for stuff they don't need nor want, brags about it only to give it away or sell it at some useless garage sale? You don't save any money. You just keep on spending money. It's a sickness.

So besides telling "Anonymous" that they can Kiss My Fucking Ass and now go back to anonymity I'll go on to say........

A-Nobody cares what you think if you don't stand up and identify yourself you coward!
B-I spend strategically and much of what I get at drugstores I don't spend ANY money on!
C-I give stuff away a LOT.....both on the blog(giveaways), privately, to family and to my local charities.  I guess you don't approve of generosity you selfish tart!
D-So do you really want to play "mine is bigger than yours" and compare MY bank account/savings balance to YOURS?  I'm game.  Come on! Show me the money bro'......

I usually ignore these ignorant folks(jealous maybe?)and their vitriol but I thought my true readers would enjoy a show.

So, what do ya'll think?
Am I an asshat with no clue about life, money, and how to live?
Or is this troll just a big old ball of shit?

Sluggy

  1. Most of my trolls are just spammers who ask the most inane questions that make zero sense in any context. I've had a few actual trolls (maybe the same person) who commented on my kids. i had some feelings on that one.

Your troll is silly & should probably focus on taking a good hard look at themselves & why they enjoy bashing people (anonymously, no less, on the internet). If someone has a legit question about whether you save money on your purchases, or how you balance spending vs saving (this is a real problem I have with gift card deals), they should post & engage in a discussion about it.

  2. The troll is a bag of shit! I read your blog because I so admire what you do, how you figure your bargains and wish WISH WISH I could do the same! The troll is probably jealous and has no life so is very envious of your repeated successes!

  3. You have shown your generous nature over and over with your family and local food shelf. Giveaway drawings are just fun-we all need more fun in life. Plus, if the coupon/deal match game is a hobby that yields surplus, what's to criticize? I'm one reader who met you and hubs in person-you are both lovely people and I'm blessed to consider you friends,

  4. Why is jealousy always a default? I highly doubt this person is jealous of your life. They sound annoyed of your content. They shouldn’t read if it bugs them. But why assume they are jealous?!

    1. Hey, I am just trying to figure out why someone who doesn't like me/my life would even READ this blog. Jealousy seems like a reasonable option, no?
And why do you feel the need NOT to sign your name either?

    2. Because nuts who are obsessed about stranger comments are bullies and take things too far by spamming them when leaving their info. That’s why I feel “the need”

    3. Nah, sounds like this person (I have an idea who it probably is) is envious. You can hear it in their blog posts - always trying to tout "I'm happy with what I have, blah blah blah" but you can tell that it's not really the case. So yeah, I think this particular troll is envious of Sluggy & her way with money & what she & her hubby have saved.

  5. You go girl! I had my blog Hidden Haven Homestead for years. I would delete troll comments but I got soft in my old age and let them get to me and just stop blogging. You handled that Troll perfectly. Bravo

    1. That's sad that you stopped blogging because of a troll.

  6. Why is someone disagreeing with you a troll? Don’t be such a bully.

    1. I'm the Bully?!?! Because I responded to unkind and rude comments made anonymously?
And of course this commenter is also Anonymous. lolz

  8. No, you are not an asshat - and I think I know who the troll is also.

  9. They just don't understand that this is a game for you and that you give away a very large portion to charity. It is entertainment and does not cost you anything, but gives back. Some people just like to criticize. It makes them feel better.

  10. I see the deal shopping as a hobby you have. Enjoy it! And I'm pretty sure you probably give a way a lot more than you sell. Either way, who cares? People that troll blogs obviously are lacking something in their own lives. I'm guessing they have someone in their lives (parent, spouse, significant other) who is overbearing and critical that they can't stand up to, so they hide behind their keyboard and do the same. I can't imagine spending my free time reading and commenting on blogs I don't like. What a sad way to spend your precious time on this earth. Rock on Sluggy!

  11. Ugh, I cannot stand people like this! Troll obviously doesn't understand the act of giving (generously in your case) and/or helping others. Nor do they have any concept of money. If they did, they would know that you actually make money by selling the stuff you don't need. There are many people who actually make a living or support their families by doing the same thing.

Your time, your money, so keep doing you Sluggy. Like many others, I enjoy reading about your deals!

  12. OMG the f*ing trolls. They really need to get a life. Blogging is about sharing our lifes, I really don't give a rats ass who likes my blog or not, don't read it if you don't - but long ago I did shut off anon comments. No trolls since.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I have absolutely no respect for people who are too cowardly to share their names, first. We probably all know who this person is...... I have a few anon commenters like Shiela who post that way but sign their names. These people must all have perfect lives. As for what you do, its a game and fun for you, PLUS you end up giving so much away to others. I always say I will never, ever turn away anything free because if I cannot use it I surely know someone who can.

  14. Well I just feel totally left out since I have no idea who this Anonymous Rex is. If you can't think it and respond in your real voice then don't comment at all.
I have better things to do than worry about someone who can't even leave their name. How you spend your money (or save your money on purchases) is pretty much your business. What you do with your overages is the same.

    1. Anne - I'm trying to remember if you ever commented on Troll's previous blogs - there have been several. Kind of funny because I actually found name/address for this Troll. Last few blogs they had the were really mean & nasty - just miserable. The new blog they have up it's all sweetie-pie, oh thank you, blah blah blah. Not as anonymous as they think!! :-)

    2. I am not a rude commenter and would never comment anything to be cruel, so I am pretty forgettable. Don't get me wrong, I am not all sweetness and light. I am sarcastic and sometimes I shake my head at an occasional blog post. But I also know whennto keep my opinions to myself.

    3. I agree with Anne. If I don't like what someone says or don't agree with their opinion I don't comment. It's their blog and I can always chose not to read it right?

  15. You are fine. Live your life as you wish. You are doing nothing wrong.

For someone to spend the time reading your blog and commenting in the negative, I would say it certainly looks like jealousy to me.

For you to call them out is not bullying...after all it's your blog, not their's.

Just keep doing what you're doing.

  16. I think calling anyone a bag of shit is pretty mean. That person didn’t leave a nice comment, but would you call her a bag of shit to her face? If you don’t care, why write a ehole post about it. Just leave it alone and unpublished. People on the internet can be super duper scary.

  17. The troll is a big ball of shit. I've had them on my blog too, which is why I turned on the comments to be moderated. They need to just get a life.

I love reading your great deals and you are SO generous with the things you buy. I know you won't let them get you down, so I won't say that.

  19. I usually post anonymously, but it's just because I like my life to stay semi-private. I think your troll probably isn't very good at math. Let's see if we can dumb it down for them: By using sales/coupons/bonus points/promotion (whatever the correct terms are) you get items for pennies or free. You donate a bunch of them to pantries = huge bonus for them and no out of pocket except for gas and a little of your time for you. You give away some of them as gifts = awesome gifts for friends/family/blog readers, with again, little cost to you. You sale some things every now and then at a price way below what someone would pay "normal cost" for, so you are saving those people money and helping them stretch their budget AND you recoup a little money towards the pennies that you paid out in the first place and for your time. You have fun "hunting" the bargains and "winning" by paying hardly anything for items and by passing both the items and the savings along.

That whole helping others by passing it along probably won't make any sense to your troll, either, though, huh? Clearly they aren't a pass along the good type of person.

  20. Who does everyone think this is? I only ask as it feels like someone had something happen?

    ReplyDelete
  21. I’m anonymous because I have no social media and I have no idea what my google password might be. 😁 But I’ll always sign my name.

Maybe the person is bitter because they never won a boring box? I shared the stuff in my boxes and you have several Indiana fans.

  22. You are most definitely NOT an asshat. I see your deal making as a hobby, as the poster above said, one that you are incredibly good at. The troll is just a very unhappy person. You go, Sluggy!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Oh man, I missed it. I"ve been away from blogs most of the week, but I'll snoop around to see if I can find it. I love your hobby that pays for itself AND benefits others, too. Maybe the troll should try it some day.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Sluggy, I already loved you and this just makes me love you more. People have no problem saying things when they are anonymous. It is much harder to say it to someone's face. Glad you called them out.

  25. That empty soul aka big ole bag of merde-I am pretty sure who that is. One of the pleasures of my now closed site is eliminating ash hats like that from even getting in to start out with! You do you, Sluggy, may your troll go hide under a bridge where she belongs

  26. I am glad to see you surround by love and support here.
I vote for not feeding trolls as this makes them bloated.

  27. you're fabulous sluggy! I love reading about your shopping and the great deals you get and seeing the things you give away. The trolls are cowards, hiding behind their computer screens. just keep doing your thing xx

  28. I truly believe that most "trolls" get some sort of sick kick out of making people feel bad or out of the reaction that they get out of those people that they are trolling. They are sick. Plain and simple. So sorry this particular troll has chosen you as their target. You are amazing and have a kind and giving spirit-- traits that this "troll" doesn't seem to possess or are traits they are jealous of. I have met you in real life and you are the same in real life as you are on this blog. You are real and a great inspiration to many of us who are trying to save money or make our money stretch. I am blessed to call you a friend!

  29. I love your answers and all the super supportive answers. You give back a lot of your talent to others. I think you are having fun. You are so smart about this. Some days I don't get it when you explain it.

Maybe this person does not understand how to do what you do? She sure showed her ignorance this time.

  30. I hate trolls. I am with you about that comment. UGH! I just don't give them the time of day anymore. My spam button works really well.

  31. I'm guessing that this is the same woman who doesn't believe the amount of money you all have earned and saved an attacked you for it, and has also reinvented blog no less than 3 times because she is a nasty, lying creature and sometimes it shows so she has to hide it and start over every few years.

All good Sluggy! I'm sure this will set her off and she'll kill her current blog again and start over in a few months as if nothing in the past ever happened.

    Yours, DeeCee

P.S. I also post (rarely) as anonymous because I also cannot for the life of me remember my google password and don't care to waste the time fixing that. LOL!
