The "It's Too Hot to Cook" Edition--
Everything planned was served.
Last week saw lots of cooking although Daughter did some of it. yay!
This week(since Friday)has been a scorcher here and it's suppose to continue until the weekend. The humidity didn't ramp up until yesterday at least so I did do some cooking. Today the crock pot will be called into service and we'll not be running the oven(Tuesday's pizza may turn into a take-out situation because of the heat instead of homemade).
Do you think I can get away with cereal for dinner for 4 nights? lolz
Moving On....

What needs buying for this menu? Potatoes, peppers, watermelon, tomatoes, corn, milk and we need bread.
I'm hoping to get through this week on $50 or less.

What is getting fixed and served at your house this week?
Was last week's plan successful, did you go off plan or did you not even plan what was going to be eaten last week?
Any great deals on food at your stores this week?

I just hate cooking when it's so hot. Thankfully we've had a mild summer so far.
ReplyDeleteYou are better than I, I hate cooking or eating when it is hot. We have been eating out too much since we are living in extended stay hotel 90 days. Oh well!
ReplyDeleteNot sure if your family are pasta eaters, but I find the Pasta Prima vera in the crock pot the greatest recipe for summer ever! I like t load my with vegetables and not use meat, but no reason you can't. It basically is uncooked pasta of choice, layered between sauce, cheese, and vegetables, with sauce left for the top. Cook on low and forget about it! It's part of my Wednesday 4th plan and for Saturday for a potluck/grilled hot dog picnic.
ReplyDeleteHubs could eat pasta every day, nay!, every meal!lolz
DeleteMight have to put this on the menu this Summer from the crock pot as long as I have something Daughter can eat that's Keto compliant. thanks
We are in the high 90's moving into the 100's so there will be a LOT of crockpot meals, salad-type meals, and bbqing - the oven will be taking a vacation!!!!! That chicken w/queso & noodle casserole sounds interesting - is there a recipe?
ReplyDeleteIt's boxed cheat/convenience thing, add chicken. It was pretty lame so we won't be doing that again but I might find a recipe and try it again but with more spice as everyone but me though it was too mild. If you find a recipe for something like this let me know Sue!
DeleteMeal plan went as scheduled. This week... Bean and cheese burritos. Gonna be working a lot this week.
ReplyDeleteThere were loads of bargains this week. I just about wore myself out shopping Sunday. It is hot down here. For the first time the crockpot made the kitchen unbearable!
ReplyDeleteIt is too hot to cook, but I am cooking anyway.
ReplyDeleteHow is your daughter liking the Keto thing? I am finding I am cooking my brains out on it.
