The "I Chose a Goofball Dog" Edition--
I just never know what Chester will do next. The photo above he lugged his bed into to the doorway of his crate and it was practically vertical when he hopped in and went to sleep.

Here the bed is over by the back door and his front end has spilled out of it and he is fast asleep with his head on the floor. lolz

Last week saw 4 nights of home cooked dinners, 1 nights of leftovers/fend for yourself, 1 night of take-out and 1 night of Eating out. Monday we all suddenly were going to be home so we did my Birthday meal out. The ham meals didn't happen so they move to this week or the ham goes into the freezer for another time.
2 Trip to Weis, 1 trip to Walmart and 1 trip to Maines restaurant supply(for produce and deli meats mostly)brought the shopping last week to $78.19 for all. That brings February's food spending total to $78.19. There are 23 days left in my shopping month.

My savings percentages last week was 46.87% and the monthly savings so far ends up at 46.87%(without Rite-Aid trips added in).
Leftovers going into this week.......ham, tuna noodle casserole, beef stroganoff and beef/broccoli stir-fry.

Here is this week's "food plan".....
Next Sunday I hope to get back into my Soup Sunday groove. Any suggestions of what to make? I've got makings for a Ham and Bean, a Clam Chowder, a French Onion or a Potato Gnocchi(oh wait, I don't have any spinach for that one).
The only thing I need to buy to make these meals is salad greens and milk.
1. Sunday--pizza(one homemade, one store bought frozen) No one was really hungry so these happened and everyone grabbed something else to their liking if they wanted more/different. It was a strange food day.
2. Monday--Leftovers
3. Tuesday--Tacos or Taco Salad
4. Wednesday--Fish, Veg, Potato Salad or ?
5. Thursday--Ham and Cheese Quiche, Salad
6. Friday--Leftovers
7. Saturday--?
This week will see 4 new meals cooked, 2 nights of leftovers, 0 night of Take-out/Eat-Out and 1 night of ?(who knows at this point lolz). I am totally uninspired this morning about a meal plan. 6. Friday--Leftovers
7. Saturday--?

What is getting fixed and served at your house this week?
Was last week's plan successful, did you go off plan or did you not even plan what was going to be eaten last week?
Any great deals on food at your stores this week?

What a cutie your dog is. Does he often move his bed? We ended up buying two dog beds, one for the office and one for the kitchen (then he actually sleeps with us overnight on the bed). The one in the kitchen is for a much bigger dog but he loves it, I think he thinks he is much bigger than he really is.
ReplyDeleteYes, he carries them both all around the den. He likes to hump the fuzzy one. lolz
DeleteHas he been having too many happy hours with Dan?
ReplyDeleteYes, he sure looks like he's a few too many in that pic. lolz
DeleteHe is ADORABLE!! I don't understand dogs and their comfort - our Great Pyrenees used to sleep on the floor NEXT to the bed using the brick step as a pillow??????
ReplyDeleteDogs are funny that way, aren't they? lolz
DeleteChester is a hoot! I've been sticking to meal plan pretty well. Chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes, steak, chicken and stovetop, tacos, and tonight is a chicken sandwich ring. Tomorrow is bbq spare ribs.
ReplyDeleteOur dog has one bed with one pad and two blankets. When I wash the bedding, she goes with me to check on them. When all is dry, she goes in circles as she works her way back to the bed where I cover her in the warm-from-the-dryer blanket. So spoiled!
ReplyDeleteLike you, I feel meh about a meal plan. I plan on making my way to the basement for a whole chicken. That will be the basis for this weeks meals. Last week was on target. Tonight, we almost finished the last of a pea soup, (me), and some chili, (Not me). That’s as far as my brain has wandered today. I may figure something out tomorrow. We don’t eat out often, especially dinner, but I think I may suggest fish out on Fri. I don’t eat meat or fish but my husband can eat mine and i’ll just have two desserts! It’s so blasted cold here that I think we need to get out and see people once in awhile. So, fish it is. (Maybe..)
Debbie
I like your conviction! lolz
DeleteI, on the other hand, try to avoid people, especially during this flu season. We went out to use a cert. for lunch yesterday and I was convinced I had caught the flu by bedtime. So far today I am still flu-less. ;-)
Also uninspired so cooked a quart of dry black beans on Sunday. That made a buttload so we're having burritos, quesadillas and bean bowls this week. I'll switch it up with some mushroom pasta mid week. Husband hates mushrooms but might like them at that point. ;)
ReplyDeleteJen G.
Yah, mushrooms no matter how hated might actually be appealing after 3-4 days of beans. hehehe
DeleteI love the way dogs and kids can fall asleep in the oddest positions. It takes me a while to get my body just right. He is adorable.
ReplyDeleteHe is so cute! My male cat loves to drag his bed around too and lay in it. It's always in some uncomfortable position.
ReplyDeleteMy fav is when he puts the two beds on top of each other then he can't get in cuz it's too high. lolz
DeleteChester sure is a cutie! I made a vat of Chicken Tortilla soup. So easy to make with just a little heat. Perfect for these cold winter days. I'm the only one who likes it though, but that's okay with me!
ReplyDeleteLeftovers Monday. Tacos today. Probs a snow day for the kiddos tomorrow so they will end up eating all day. Skinny little buggers. Lol. Chicken something Thursday, ground beef something Friday. I *might make it to the store Thursday. But if I don't we have plenty here to tide us through.
I hit the store today due to the impending storm here. It was terribly crowded there at the store meaning everyone was there shopping too. lolz
DeleteDid you get the PA standard? Bread, milk, toilet paper....and sometimes wine. Lol. When is it going to be spring?!?
DeleteI just got the milk.....and ice cream. The liquor store next door was crazy too of course! lolz
