This is Why....

This is why I grow salad greens in gutters hanging off of my dog run.....

In case you can't make them out, here is another photo of the critters circled....

3 salad greens eating rabbits of various sizes.
All waiting for my lovely greens to come in so they can get even bigger!

No freaking way this year!
Uh uh!!

Hubs has to get the fruit tree fencing up before we leave for Ohio since they have been eyeing the radish tops already.
And they CAN get to the radishes since they are in the traditional garden in the ground.

  1. I have them too and they love to eat my black eyed susans! A friend told me to sprinkle Milorganite to keep them away - the stuff really smells! HTH.

  2. I had seen salad gutters. Your idea to wire them to the dog kennel is a wonderful idea! I love the fact it saves your back.

    1. I am all about saving my back. Now to figure a way to hoist all the garden beds up that way. Too bad a raised bed can't be raised like that.lol

  3. But they need lots of food for all of the sex they will be having. Lucky bunnies.

  4. Ooh..it's Spot and Dot. All rabbits are Spot and Dot, according to Kat. Even that third one there is Spot or Dot.

Our neighborhood rabbits don't come around anymore. They respect the privacy fence. The raccoons and possums? Not so much.

Our neighborhood bunnies LIVE under our shed. I am too soft to evict them....

  5. Cute critters, but critters nonetheless. Perhaps you should get a cat to watch out for the rabbits?

  8. Maybe I should drag the kennel out into the middle of the backyard? That way I can 1-hang gutters on all sides and grow more veggies and 2-totally piss off all my neighbors!
    A win-win, right?lol
