The only way I could save $1200 in a month is if we didn't spend a single cent on *anything* unfortunately! But $5K is still a good chunk based on our income, so i'm happy. I'd love to add another $5K to our savings this year... :) ~Carla~https://www.blogger.com/profile/02341057469246030024noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1611711622146875201.post-39845582040896711082014-01-03T14:35:59.061-05:002014-01-03T14:35:59.061-05:00Love the Savings goals! One day I want to have that kind of savings. *sigh* I need to have the matching income first.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06470492772543904048noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1611711622146875201.post-35618013186588619462014-01-03T11:33:50.981-05:002014-01-03T11:33:50.981-05:00My goal is to save between $2500 and $3000 per mon...My goal is to save between $2500 and $3000 per month. Basically I live on one paycheque and bank the other. Like you everything comes off the top (my dad always said pay yourself first) and then live on the rest. Most months I don't have any problems meeting my savings goal but with all the renos I didn't save as much as I wanted to and am $1400 short in my savings which I hope to make up for with my tax refund plus the school owes me about $400 for purchases I made and haven't been reimbursed for yet. My debt is all paid so savings is THE most important goal of my financial life. People don't save enough anymore - here in Canada the average debt to annual income is over 160% - people owe way more than they make - I just couldn't live that way myself. I had a lot of very lean years but I always maxed out my RRSP somehow.Janehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02803104035204416080noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1611711622146875201.post-30545443540751607492014-01-03T11:22:43.368-05:002014-01-03T11:22:43.368-05:00I didn't even think to total December, but I a...I didn't even think to total December, but I am always in awe at your savings! I think I went slightly over during December. Too much travel (for work and to parents), and I'll confess I spent TOO MUCH for Christmas. Like $250 over what I was planning to. I did cover it all with my PT job's checks, but that's not what I wanted to use the money on! I guess I did end up even, but I would've rather ended up in the green than the black. But both of those beat ending in red! My insurance is also due at the end of Feb, but I save for that as I go, so it's a no brainer. It also went down by a whole $5 (total) for 6 months. Woo. Hoo. Not. But I'll take it. Taniahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11075300256482920618noreply@blogger.com
