We left Virginia in about 1790's to Tennessee than to Missouri. I hope to hear from you and learn some things.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13372834652998183906noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1611711622146875201.post-82632473578814151382012-04-06T08:40:02.656-04:002012-04-06T08:40:02.656-04:00Very interesting! I have an ancestor who was a "minute man" during the American Revolution, and then some of that line moved to Canada. Your post makes me want to get back into my research again!!Janehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02803104035204416080noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1611711622146875201.post-59566617846067387112012-04-05T15:48:43.459-04:002012-04-05T15:48:43.459-04:00Out My Window--Oh if you only KNEW how much of a c...Out My Window--Oh if you only KNEW how much of a chip I am!lolslugmamahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12728856166374248591noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1611711622146875201.post-13217767523506250552012-04-05T15:47:56.488-04:002012-04-05T15:47:56.488-04:00444--As I scratch that Sneed/Snead line I find the...444--As I scratch that Sneed/Snead line I find the House of de Snyde coming up...not sure if this will lead to France or stay in Jolly Ol'.
This line didn't cross over into MD tho. I assume your Tillman/Tiglman peeps were Catholics(MD roots and all)and my mom's roots were Protestants so probably no crossover for our families.....maybe much later if any. BTW-Tilghman is a big name up in PA, around the Allentown area so you may have peeps who moved to Philly and upland from there.

And you are right about it all being weird....one little zig instead of a zag of a "swimmer", ducking an arrow, getting some fatal bout of cholera or living through some battle makes us being here more of a capricious whim of history!slugmamahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12728856166374248591noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1611711622146875201.post-80043074314656308452012-04-05T15:40:22.702-04:002012-04-05T15:40:22.702-04:00Annie--My thoughts EXACTLY!!Annie--My thoughts EXACTLY!!slugmamahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12728856166374248591noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1611711622146875201.post-41547573148228780432012-04-05T13:37:33.900-04:002012-04-05T13:37:33.900-04:00Wonderful tribute, and yes you are chip off the ol...Wonderful tribute, and yes you are chip off the old, old, old, block!Out My windowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13456481267171643227noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1611711622146875201.post-44129733738396395982012-04-05T09:31:48.972-04:002012-04-05T09:31:48.972-04:00This is extremely interesting stuff. I'm sure...This is extremely interesting stuff. I'm sure it's reasonable that we're related in some way, but no familiar names (no Sneads/Sneeds), however, Snodland parish! (England)(sounds kind of like Snead) and the Tillmans/Tilghmans. Generations of Richard, Christopher, and Gideon - over and over and over before they thought up some new names. They came through Maryland (Tilghman Island has to be involved but may have been named after a relative of my ancestor) but moved down through the Carolinas and Georgia. Joshua Belitha Tilghman with red hair and a harelip was my revolutionary war ancestor (the one that I know of) and he married Patsy Taylor, who was my ancestor and produced one child (my ancestor.) Patsy then died and he married her sister Chloe and they produced around 10 more kids. It's kind of weird to think that I would not be here, had Patsy not lived to have that one child. Genealogy is like that, though, isn't it?444https://www.blogger.com/profile/18317761558076527630noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1611711622146875201.post-55227780027188495972012-04-05T07:48:51.060-04:002012-04-05T07:48:51.060-04:00Mmmm.
