We (Michael) usually makes enough to last a few days. Last night we were lazy as Michael worked til almost 7pm so he picked up some soup and veggie fried rice at our local and very cheap Thai restaurant. Cost around $10 - fed us both all we could eat and still some leftovers!Janehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02803104035204416080noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1611711622146875201.post-29940900052557735242013-10-26T17:35:11.886-04:002013-10-26T17:35:11.886-04:00I haven't had baked butternut squash in foreve...I haven't had baked butternut squash in forever. I don't own a store! It's a Yankee term, I guess...I confuse my PNW neighbors with that term a lot! Turkey breast on Sunday (bought at less than a buck a pound last <br />winter) was Sunday dinner. Tacos with ground beef bought at two bucks /lb. (Local grass fed..that price for fifty or more lbs.) on Monday. Shepherd's pie made with leftover turkey and mashed potatoes (grown ourselves) were served. That is all I can remember off the top of my head. But, from now until New Year's, we are trying to make meals out of our stores, with the grocery shopping being only for school lunch supplies if needed, and rock bottom loss leaders. The focus will be enjoying the "treat "food of the season...smoked salmon, egg nog. Caramel apples, champagne for mimosas, Honey Crisp apples and the like. Yesterday I made pumpkin fudge!
