We're going to be in Copenhagen at the end of this week before we board the ship.
Has anyone been to Copenhagen? Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do there?
I had a work partner when I was in my 20's named Tula who was much older than me, originally from Denmark, She never really talked about her homeland and had lived in the US for decades.
I though erroneously that the Anne Frank house was in Denmark and not the Netherlands. duh. lol
All I know is that the Little Mermaid statue from Hans Christian Anderson is in the harbor there.
And the original Lego Land is there.
We'll probably visit the mermaid statue by the harbor but not the legos. 8-))
As for our new living accomadations--
The new place meets our needs, mostly. It's a bit smaller than we need. We'll need to rent a storage unit for the stuff I am selling and get it out of the garage, This place is just temporary and gives us a year to find a place to buy.
There are 3 annoyances we have found so far here--
The main thing is the road behind the duplex runs down a hill and folks gun their engines and speed down(or up)the road. The bedroom is in the back of the duplex. It would have been expedient if the builder/owner had put a fence up to muffle the sound from the road as the backyard is quite small.
The other two problems are not going to ongoing.
The refrigerator makes beeping sounds at random intervals. We have a work order in to get this addressed. I had a dream last night about a robot that beeped. lolz
The third item is my sink in the master bath. I noticed that it was slow to drain so Hubs hit it with some Drano. But it still was slow to drain, So I investigated and here is what I pulled out of one of those stoppers you can't remove.............
You would think that as part of the cleaning of the premises they do when a tenant leaves would include checking the sink drains in the bathroom, This is stuff I pulled out with my fingers! Hubs pulled out more gunk with tweezers besides this, Just nasty!!
The sink drain contents are gross. I wonder what the refrigerator beeps mean? Do you have a manual in hand or can you look a manual up online. That traffic would drive me mad. Can the cars fly into your yard?
ReplyDeleteMaybe the year will pass quickly. Enjoy your time abroad. Maybe it is a robot and it cannot speak English.
Practical Parsimony above.
ReplyDeleteMy sister has lived there for over 40 years and I've been quite a few times, although obviously I was shown around by "locals". The little mermaid was a big disappointment as it is so small, but I guess worth a picture or two. Legoland definitely. The Jewish Museum is also very moving, plus the harbour of course. If you have transport the royal palaces and a place called the Freilands Museum (sp?) where they have relocated homes and villages from over 100s of years. I loved it! Oh and definitely have the frikadeller (sp?), IKEA's much more famous meatballs, plus prune-stuffed pork!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you starting to get settled in your new area. That hair ball is disgusting.
ReplyDeleteSafe travels and have fun!
ReplyDeleteDoes refrigerator have water dispenser it could be filter replaced. Joyce pa
ReplyDeleteFirst thing we did was have filter replaced but it still beeps, but thanks for the thought.
DeleteI have a nephew that is a plumber he told us to use green gobble for clogged or slow draining pipes works wonderful just got to let it set overnight and than you pour hot water in the morning. Glad you guys made it to your new place by your son its nice to have family that want you there .
ReplyDeleteYour first world problems, are so difficult. Yes, I am making fun of you, feel free to retaliate.
ReplyDeleteHave fun!!!! Cindy in the South
ReplyDeleteHappy travels. That hair ball is one of the many reasons why I don't rent. *shrug* Oh well. It is what it needs to be. Have fun and forgetaboutit for a while.
ReplyDeleteYikes on that sink drain! Annoying beeping needs to cease immediately! Best of luck on that front and wishing you safe travels!
