  3. Many places in East TN are beginning to open back up. We will personally wait a couple weeks before venturing far. We are using drive thrus, and my hips are showing that. We typically vacate in September and hope to be able to by then. Thanks!

  4. Hopefully we'll be getting a garden in, and planning summer to be at the cabin some days. I'll be working mostly from home.

  5. Check on the possibility of murdering a family member. Sure hope a blog comment cannot be used as evidence against me. Just in case, I am kidding.

  8. Our governor has extended the lockdown another 30 days, but our state is also very hard hit (NJ). But he also opened the state parks, although people are supposed to socially distance. When the weather turns warm, people have to be able to get out a bit....

  12. I've become a food truck junkie during the lockdown. Getting out some is the only thing that keeps me sane. My son is abroad in the military, but if there is some good fortune, we are both working reduced hours and get to talk or video chat a bit more.

  13. Still struggling to find TP, but we've gotten lucky a few times and have been able to pick up a few rolls here and there so we're not totally out...yet.

  14. Our plans for today include a cookout with our kids and grandkids. Because we are their main babysitter and contractor, we have not socially distanced from them. That has made this quarantine much easier for us.

  17. Good Morning from Nevada! Our state just started the first phase of opening back up. I am most excited that hair places will be open as I am getting quite shaggy. Need to let the first week die down before scheduling an appt. There is a run on getting in as they have to be more careful appt's are taking longer. Other than that life is good. Hope it is for you too. Only a few times that I have wanted to do everyone in but I get over that pretty quick. lol. Take care.

  18. I’ll sit this one out but there is a fake meat shortage here. It looks like all the meat eaters wiped out the vegetarian section. Not even the crappy Morningstar products were left. Desperate times!

  20. I’m not planning any summer travel. Right now, my idea of the high life would be if my book club could meet in person, six feet apart. LOL

  21. We still can't find instant rice, and we used up the last of ours today. I guess we'll have to cook regular rice from now on!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Our state should begin opening up this month but we want to stay safe so we are not going to be joining large groups for a few months at least! Going to be enjoying the sun and good weather and taking some long walks.

  28. We don't really know what to think about summer travel plans. Normally we're very ambitious and travel all over the US with our summers off, but it just seems so hard to plan ahead right now. We just don't know how things will be over the next couple of months.

  38. Okay, had to go to Dollar General-not far from home-My car would not start. Some nice people tried to jump my car to no avail. Walked home. Busy, Busy State Route, No sidewalks, Terrifying. I didn't have my phone, I was just going to get some stomach meds-cause my stomach was killing me. Ugh! The nice men who tried to jump my car wouldn't give me a lift-I don't blame them- covid-19 after all. Jeeze, I think, maybe if I was young, slim and sexy it would have been different. I remember asking my MIL why she didn't have such n such tack care of something. She told me that she wasn't young and beautiful like I was. Now, I understand.

  49. Our state is opening up some. Hair salons and a few businesses. All the sudden traffic on the roads is back to normal and "elective" surgeries are coming in hot and heavy. I have been working at a Cardiology office for the last 3 months answering phones, getting presc. refills, surgery clearances, etc.... and handling problems. Just me and one fish working every day in a locked building. (the big orange fish ate the little black one - guess the stress was getting to her) Take care.

  50. But alas, my grocery pickup resulted in NO rice or pasta. I guess we're going to have to keep eating fresh fruits and vegetables, hahahaha.

  65. We've been doing grocery pickup for the past 6 weeks or so. It's nice to be able to avoid going into the grocery store but I find it harder to actually buy enough groceries to get through a week. I guess when I'm actually in the store I impulse buy more.
