This Week on the Dining Table

It's the "We ARE Using Stuff Up" Edition......

Two weekends ago before I made my spaghetti sauce I took a photo of my home canned tomatoes above.
This is the last jar of canned tomatoes I have.  I haven't grown enough tomatoes the last 2 Summers to can anything for later....heck last Summer the deer ate every. single. tomato. sigh
I shed a small tear but then realized I don't NEED canned tomatoes since I have about 20 cans of tomatoes in the stockpile still that I got cheaply with sales and Qs from the grocery store.   I don't need no stinkin' tomatoes......lol

Moving on......

Was last week's plan successful, did you go off plan or did you not even plan what was going to be eaten last week?

Any great deals on food at your stores this week?

  1. made a big pot of meat sauce for a lasagna, and posted a link to the recipe on my blog post yesterday. It was really good and I popped on lasagna in the freezer, had one meal last night, have enough for another meal and sauce for another meal. Then for the rest of the week, I will have to see what I have in the fridge and freezer.

  2. I hear you about the tomatoes, except for me it was green beans. When I did my storage inventory I found I had 17 cans of green beans, and we are not even fond of canned green beans. Why?

  4. We are having mostly chicken and salad. We are pretty health conscious. Your menu item of taco salad sounds sounds inspiring. Might have to give that a try this week!
