TBT-Throwback Thursday

Let's get into the time machine and go all the way back to Halloween of 1960........

This one was taken after Trick or Treating in the Portlock section of South Norfolk(now Chesapeake), Virginia in that year.

My oldest brother Dennis is dressed as Heckle or Jeckle(you decide), my older brother David is dressed as Donald Duck, but who is that cute as a button bunny with them?

Why it's moi!
At 1 year and 9 months I already have a sweet tooth on this first year I got to go Trick or Treating.

And I am ready to go back out for more candy-the good stuff.......me wants no stinkin' apples. lolz

Amazingly this is the only set of photos I can find with any of us dressed up for Halloween.  I know I had some pretty nifty costumes and went out tnt-ing regularly when I was a kid, as did my brothers, but my mother just never took any photos of us dressed up for Halloween before or after 1960.
What a shame......

hmmm, I typed something and it disappeared as I watched. I do have pictures from several years of my children in costume.I have nothing from my childhood costumes. We never went out to t-o-t as far as I can remember.

  2. I know who Heckle and Jeckle are. I was trick or treating in 1960 also, but have no clue what I might have been. There are no Halloween photos of us either. I think my parents only took pictures at Christmas, Easter, Vacation and Birthdays. And on sometimes (I know because each roll of their photos were developed in these little spiral bound pad like things) Christmas, Easter, Vacation and Birthdays were all on the same roll.

  3. Heckle and Jeckle. Holy cow! I wonder what that costume would be worth today? You look so cute in your bunny outfit. I don't have any Halloween pics of me either except for the one I posted on my blog and on fb. I remember getting a pillowcase full of candy...the full size bars! Oh yeah!

  4. These pictures are awesome! You were the most adorable bunny ever!!!

My mom was born in 1960. I just realized I've never seen a photo of her in a Halloween costume. We never celebrated Halloween as kids but I'm pretty sure she did. This is weird. I think that I have all of my maternal grandmother's albums. I need to go on a scavenger hunt now.

  5. Cutest bunny ever. Love the trip back in time with the carpet and sofa and drapes. Looked just like my house in old pictures.
