My Almost Famous Cousin

When I went to the Family Reunion last September I found something out.
We always have dinner with Cousin Ruby and Donnie the evening after the Reunion is held.
Ruby is my mother's cousin on her father's side of things so she is my 1st cousin once removed.  Her mother and my grandfather were siblings.

Anyway, while having dinner that night, Ruby mentioned that her grandson, Caleb, was on tv earlier in the year but she couldn't tell anyone until the show was over.  I asked for what reason and Ruby told me he had been a contestant on "The Voice".
I about dropped my fork!
I use to watch that show but had gotten out of the habit about a season or two ago so I missed him.

Caleb, who is my 2nd cousin once removed and whom I have never met incidentally, has his sights set on stardom it seems and has a pretty good singing voice.  Currently he is 20 years old(was 19 while on the show)so he's younger than 2 of my own kid.
Gosh, I feel so old.......

Here is his blind audition from the tv show.....

He didn't get beyond the Battle Rounds unfortunately on the show.

His Facebook fan page is located HERE.

This NJ writer called him one of the standouts from Season 6......HERE.

He has since made a music video and still struggling to make it "big" in the music industry.

    1. Well I might be related to you then through Roy Rogers' mother, Martha Womack. I have Womacks in my mother's line and I could bet a branch went to KY, where Mattie Womack was from! lolz

    2. My grandmother's maiden name was Slye, from middle Kentucky, Gordon was from southern Ohio/middle-central KY. Pretty cool! 6 degrees of separation my butt!

    4. Ok Jay, PM me your father and his parent's names so I can find the connection. James Tignall Womack(Roy's GG grandfather)was from Farmville, VA so we must be related! lolz

  6. How interesting. Through Ancestry.com I've met a cousin twice removed (I knew her Dad) who is married to a musician who plays in a band and is trying to make it.
