This week I want to hear about if/how you celebrate Halloween.  Do you dress up on Oct. 31st whether or not you are going to a party?
And if you give out candy/treats on Halloween, what do you like to give?

I use to get those full sized candy bars for a good price at the restaurant supply store so my house use to be very popular for Trick or Treaters.  This year I think we'll scale back but I am not sure what we will give out yet.....I still have a few weeks to work that out.

You can come directly to this blog post or find it through the link on the right side bar to leave 1 comment per day.  The current Giveaway Post will be linked right at the top of the side bar.

Please NOTE--You MUST be a follower to enter the Giveaway.  If you aren't one, just click on the "Follow" button on the right hand side of my blog to become a follower.

There are 2 ways to get 2 EXTRA entries on this and each new Giveaway Post besides the daily comment.......

1. Put my blog on your blog's Blogroll.  Leave an extra comment for this entry on THIS POST with the URL of your blog so I can go check it out. **If I'm already on your Blogroll, say so in an extra entry comment once each week of this giveaway.
2.  Blog about this Giveaway on your blog with a link to this post.  Leave an extra comment for this entry on THIS POST with a link to your blog post so I can go view it.  You can do this extra entry once each week of this giveaway.

Two more weeks/posts after this and the box will be full and ready to pick a winner.

Any questions?  Just email me.

Happy Entering!!

  2. We are going to be in Vegas for the 31st so we won't be dressed up. I'm totally fine with it.
I have been picking up little toys from garage sales and will get a couple of bags of candy for DJ to hand out.

  3. My kids are older now so we don't celebrate Halloween. Our subdivision doesn't have street lights so we don't get many kids trick or treating. We quit giiving out candy because we had so much left and ended up eating it.

  5. We had taken a hiatus from Halloween for several years for a darn good reason, but now with a grandkid, we celebrated last year and this too. We'll hand out candy and go out with the little one. Hopefully... plans are in the air as are my hands.

  6. Let's see Halloween... I'm not sure if I will dress up this year. I never got a chance last year and was quite sad about it! Maybe this year will be better? And trick or treaters -- nah I haven't lived anywhere to actually make that happen. Apartments are tough for that!

  7. Our street is steep so we don't get many trick-or-treaters. I have asked a couple of kids from up the street what they would like and they both said snickers bars. For several years we handed out glo-stick bracelets. They were very popular!

I decorate indoors for Halloween. I have a black cat collection that I enjoy setting up each year I also have a collection of Dia de los Muertos items that I display year-round.

  8. In the 1980's I worked in a mall. I always volunteered to work on Halloween, and I did dress up during that time.

I live in sort of a no-man's-land area at the edge of the world, so don't get any trick-or-treaters at all. I do buy candy, though :-)

My birthday is very near to Halloween, so when I was growing up my birthday parties were always Halloween themed. I sort of associate the holiday with my birthday :-)

I won't decorate outside, but I have a couple painted ceramic pieces that my mom made for me and I will set those up. One is a pumpkin that sets over a tea-light candle and the other is a scarecrow with a lightbulb inside a jack-o-lantern he is holding.

  9. Last year I gave the mcdonalds certificats(10/1.00 I think) so I am going to do them again this year. The little ones who live up the street were so excited the next day they ran down to tell me that there mom was taking them to mcdonalds with the gift certs! I usually just stick on my witchs hat..oh wait I always wear that :)

  11. My neighborhood has become a destination spot, with cars overflowing with kids (of all ages) being let out at the front of the neighborhood and being picked up at the back. The last 2 years I ran out of candy and had to send someone out to buy more. I like to sit in the front yard and watch all of the fun. It reminds me of the scene from Mr. Mom.

  12. We used to go all out, carving pumpkins with the kids, decorating, candy, costumes and fun.

Now we just by some candy n case we get trick or treaters.

Meredith would LOVE that gargoyle. Halloween is her favorite holiday and she goes all out for it.

  13. When my kids were young, I put together costumes and we went trick or treating. We went to the Halloween carnival at school as part of the holiday, but it was usually not on Halloween day.

I made a costume and one for a guy friend and we set up a table in the front yard with candles and candy. Several years, I have gone to parties that friends had.

In my front yard I set up a graveyard. I made tombstones from huge sheets of Styrofoam I found at an appliance store. A tea light goes in front of each tomb.

If it rains, I won't be putting out table and candy. If it is cold, I won't be out there. If the weather is perfect, then I am game.

  18. For some reason, one of my favorite Halloween memories just popped into my head. Years ago, when the kids were little, I was at work on Halloween day and Hubby called, asking, "How do you paint fingernails?" LOL! Samantha had asked her daddy if he would paint her fingernails for trick or treating. I told him how and he painted them. I thought it was so sweet!

  24. I didn't make it to tonight's HS football game - I'll regret that later but as of right now I'm tired and ready to settle in with an oldie-but-goodie movie. I don't have a child playing on the field, but my niece is on the drill team and the rest of the family is there to cheer her on.
