  1. Missed your snappy wit this week! We have a small to good sized garden. We are in GA so blooms already on the 'maters, cukes, and beans. We also have peppers, zucchini, and squash coming along. Love it, love it, love it- eat all year from it! Angela

  2. Hellooooooooooooooooo Sluggy! As I go to PEI each summer I'm not doing too much gardening. Though we do pull up a lot of spruce seedlings from our forest and transplant them around our property. We also planted 5 maple trees last summer and I'm anxious to see if they survived. All around us are farmer's fields mostly planted with potatoes. We can help ourselves and by August have lots of new little potatoes to add to our BBQ'd veggies. At home in Ontario I have 100% perennials planted so the garden pretty much looks after itself. Once full-time in PEI I plan to have a big garden full of lettuce, tomatoes, green peppers, zucchini, beans, onions, carrots and turnips. Root veggies do really well out there. We have tons of raspberry bushes but they're old and the berries very small so we're going to get them pulled out and I want to have blueberry bushes instead. We also have a couple of apple trees, not sure what kind they are.

  5. We have a garden every year. This year we have planted: tomatoes, onions, bell peppers, yummy bells, banana peppers, squash, zucchini, cucumbers, sweet potatoes, pumpkins, watermelons. Today, I counted 14 tomatoes on the vines. We can't wait for the tomatoes to get ripe.

I'd love to win! I will be planting tomatoes at the end of the month. Right now trying to keep the seedlings in the sun on the porch. I'll plant them in containers as we have too many critters to worry about. I'd like to do a raised bed about table or counter height maybe next year.

  7. Over an inch of rain yesterday- woohoo! Good for the garden and it has been so dry already this year. I HATE to pay to run the sprinkler. Angela

  8. I follow by email. Too soon in Illinois to think about the garden (we have had snow this late before!) I plant tomatoes, green peppers and strawberries in Earth boxes and containers. My neighbors plant so much that they are begging me to take cucumbers and zucchini all summer! lol
